Crop formations undeniably are getting bigger, more complex and perhaps revealing information which we can start to understand in a much simpler way.
The formation on the left I had the pleasure of spending some time on my own within its twists, turns and splendor. I sat in the centre and kept asking questions - who are you? - what are you? - what are you trying to tell us here ?
These question were milling around in my mind for quite some time.
The message in this design is: Look at it closely. The outer claw looking type blades give the initial impression of a tin or bottle opener (tool) which are over laying or even under laying each other. This would indicate that there is a folding in and unfolding out action. The same applies to the inner smaller blades - this would indicate that the centre hole can be closed or opened (machine). So therefore we have A TOOL plus a MACHINE combined as one we have the Tool and Machine of the Trade ! What you are seeing here is without a single doubt that this is type of machine or craft that creates crop circle formations;
We ask you to keep an open mind while reading and observing our assessment. What you will see is that the Crop Circle Maker has been revealing for quite sometime now the way Crop Circle formations are created and how the necessary machinery is delivered.

Additional Evidence to backup this assessment.

Also in March 2009 a chance meeting with a couple of old age pensioners has revealed a close encounter which has some remarkable likeness to this theory.

Is 2009 going to bring us sightings ?
Lets hope so -
Upon returning to my car - a sense of conciousness
clicked in, how? I truly cant explain to you, but the need to drawn was instantaneous. The Image on the left is what I sketched at the time.
Things became very clear when I started to search through all the crop circle picture libraries
Lets look at the actual formation first
1. Above Image: Actual Formation fully
opened
2. Preliminary diagram - showing blades fully open
3. Blades in the process of closing
4. Blades retracted - fully closed - we have now a perfect round disc
The above demonstration hopefully shows you the initial design of the machine. We should all of course consider the fact that this could indeed be an artistic expression of the actual machine but the mechanical process would be the same as shown. The actual machine may vary in size and have other abilities which are not shown here.
Creating the Construction Line
We can only assume the logical process in the first stages of crop circle creation. Complex designs would probably require an outline to the image being created.
In some formations the construction line is clearly visible. The above diagram shows the disc with blades folded and in upright position, this would lead to an assumption that the disc creates either a guide line or the outline of the pattern first. Once the essential lines are created - then the secondary process of creating the formation begins. The same disc or possibly another then hovers over the corn - starts to spin at high speed - the immense speed of the rotation would create heat with a powerful down force, then extracts its blades to the desired size as its descending on the corn. With down force and heat generated from the spinning disc would place the plant stem under stress. At this stage it is possible that steam or other chemical process may be applied to soften the plant stem enabling it to bend to the ground without breaking. As most of us are fully aware that chemical and chemistry of the soil within the formation changes.

Image showing half the blades open and sweeping to which ever direction is required - machine functions clockwise or anti clockwise direction.
Above Image: The centre open hole of the machine remains open when descending on the crop so the centre of crop circle formation leaves the stems of the plant unaffected as the stems go through the centre hole. The inner blades at this time are not spinning. This is a common feature within most crop formations.
The Crop Circle Makers have been showing us time and time again their principle factors of creation. Images on the left show variations in design but showing a rotating / spinning disc everytime!.
