West Woodhay Down, Nr Inkpen, Wiltshire. Reported 29th July 2011
On the 28th July we received a rumour that the biggest formation of the season will appear in a popular location before Steve Alexanders conference. As we advertised this fact on Facebook ( please see screen capture ) many tourists decided to night watch areas such as Southfield and Eastfield. So due to this fact the location may have been changed.
Our announcement on Facebook - notice the date ! 28th July 2011
The following morning 29th July Julian Gibsone and Stuart Dike announce the arrival of a fantastic formation.
The whistle-blower was spot on - Thank you !
The big one did arrive - spanning across 11 tram lines !.
Within hours of being discovered ( Lets just say a phone call was made to appropriate people so aerials could be taken asap) the farmer was furious and threatened to spray peoples cars if they entered his field.
The public didn't listen so the farmer decided to cut out this formation!
This size of formation would be at least 12 tons of grain gone to waste (according to the farmer ) Approx. Value per ton is £200.
As seen on connector - Original announced location was also incorrect !
