May 3rd 2010 Rape Seed bloomed early so we set off for the first night watch of 2010. At this point in time we were still believers that crop circles were made by aliens or some other paranormal entity so our hopes were high. We parked at the side of East Field armed with all types of equipment, cameras, EMF meters and Night Vision Goggles.
As the night drew in we were fairly optimistic that a crop circle was going to appear in East Field or South Field. As we observed fields and the night sky one unexplained thing that happened quite frequently was a pale blue light lit up Southfield on a frequent basis. Every time this happened at first we thought that the light source may have come from passing cars, but this was not to be. Each time the field lit up we observed surrounding roads and did not see or hear any passing vehicles, so this remains a mystery as from where such a pale blue light may have come from. What is very interesting however is that this pale blue light shone up to the edge of Southfield, meaning that this light source did not bleed into surrounding fields. So if the field is square for instance then it was only the square that was lit up !! On this night we also witnessed 3 streaks of white light which shot directly over our heads heading towards the West Woods location, this only happened once and did not repeat again during this night. When all unexplained activity died down we settled with a hot coffee in our vehicles, the night still had a wintry feel in the air. With car engines running and heat pumping in through the vents you could say we relaxed to much. At Approximately 01.00 am GMT a flash of beam of light from the far end Knapp Hill appeared ( not the camping end - more towards West Woods ). It then vanished, this of course attracted our attention and we all jumped out of our warm cars for a clearer view. We waited and nothing, but then without any warning the beam of light appeared again and this time travelling slowly across Knapp Hill towards the peak of Knapp Hill itself. I grabbed my HD Camcorder but could not see the beam of light through the view finder, so I called out to my colleague to switch on the night vision and if it was visible then begin recording. Night vision equipment was all still very new to us and one thing we did not realise that the small external Iphone sized recorder had only 128k of internal memory and was set to record to internal memory rather than to the micro card which had a larger storage capacity. So we grab what we could . The beam of light vanished after a few seconds of the footage below.
To this day we cannot explain what this beam of light was. No crop circles appeared in Southfield or Eastfield on this night , however several miles South at Old Sarum near Salisbury a crop circle was waiting to be discovered.
