![]() June 20th 2009 myself ( Andrew Pyrka )Olivier Morel and a documentary maker were preparing for a night watch at the very top of Silbury Hill. As it was the night before the Solstice scores of Police and thousands of Solstice revellers were around Avebury, Silbury Hill and West Kennet Long Barrow, so finding a space to park was almost an impossibility, but I managed to park at the edge of Silbury Hill ( almost in a field itself ). The car park next to Silbury Hill was closed and manned by a security guard so this was going to be an extra challenge if we were to spend a night on Silbury Hill without being spotted. The challenge was set and somehow we had to find a way. It was just after 23.00 hours GMT when the skies were dark enough for us to climb the Hill. We entered the field and approached the base of Silbury Hill from the back ( field side rather than road side ). The sides of Silbury Hill were overgrown with weeds, nettles and thorns so scaling the hill became rather slow and cautious climb. Once we reached the peak we made ourselves comfortable for the night. Fortunately the night was dry with sporadic cloud cover but quite chilly for a Summers evening . We begun observation almost immediately, scanning all possible fields for the appearance of a crop circle. We did wonder at the time if anything would happen at all as there was plenty of noise and activity in Avebury and on the road directly below. Tow trucks were busy towing away cars parked illegally on the road side, this carried on pretty much throughout the night. Just after midnight we started to get some very interesting displays in the skies, unexplained lights would flare up and then mysteriously disappear. Then towards the direction of Milk Hill a burst of bright light filled the distant horizon. What was so unusual about this light that if was filled with colours of the rainbow - so we concentrated our eyes in the direction of where this bright light appeared. To this day this light remains unexplained. At the time we didn't have any night vision equipment all we had was a good pair of binoculars, so we strained our eyes in trying to spot as much as our eyes would allow under night time conditions. It wasn't until just after 02.00 am GMT when another single bright light caught our attention. Again it was towards the direction of Milk Hill but this time the light appeared to be at ground level. This light moved erratically backwards and forwards in a very jerky motion. At first we did think that it was a car light but we quickly ruled out such thought as it was one single light and if it was a car then what the hell was it doing driving around in the middle of a field at 02.00 am in the morning ? . This curiosity lasted for at least 30 minutes or so and distracted our paying attention to other fields. By 03.00 am things quietened down a touch, traffic flow slowed to one or two cars passing every now and again but the revellers at Avebury were still going strong with drums beating and the occasional cheer could be heard. By 03.30 am daylight started to break on the distant horizon which gave the fields a touch of hazy light. So from this point onwards we stood up and begun scanning fields with our binoculars. Still nothing visible !. Then around 04.00 am morning light was now getting stronger and fields were becoming visible to our strained eyes. Olivier then pointed his binoculars towards West Kennet Long Barrow and beyond. All of a sudden Olivier says ' I See Something !' , so I looked and indeed there were many shades in a field almost directly and below the West Kennet Long Barrow. We quickly agreed that there was something there so without hesitation we begun our descent down Silbury Hill and headed towards the location. We were like dogs on heat, tired with legs feeling fatigue, sapping in energy but somehow we found the strength and picked up pace so we could be the first ones there. ( Lets not forget at this point in time I was a very strong believer in Alien made circles ). As we got closer there it was a brand new crop circle, waiting to be conquered by the first steps of man. We made it, we were the first in !. We instantly started taking photos so we could grab that moment before anyone else spotted us and followed us in. I was feeling drained so raising a 16 foot pole with a heavy camera which at the time was set on timed shutter was indeed a challenge but it had to be done. Ground shot and Entity Images by Andrew Pyrka - Aerial Image - Olivier Morel When we first entered the Yin Yang formation I noticed something hazy white moving across the tree tops at the edge of the field. I pointed my camera and took a couple of shots. One minute it was there then the next minute it was gone, but then seconds later above West Kennet Long Barrow a bright light appeared, it moved slowly towards Silbury Hill then it faded to nothing. When I checked my images it was hard to even begin to described what the white flying entity is or was ?! The above image was taken on the morning of 21st June 2009. At the time there was only 3 people in this formation, what we didn't realise at the time is that we had company, this time inside the crop circle itself. When I first looked at the above image there was nothing which visually captured the attention. Several nights later I felt as if something woke me from my sleep. I could not entirely tell you if I woke from a dream, I simply cant remember but something stirred within me to check my images. I felt this was a bizarre thing at the time but nevertheless I got up ( It was 03.20am ) and switched on my computer. The first folder I clicked on was the Yin Yang Formation followed by clicking on the above image. WTF ! please excuse the crudeness of the abbreviation but that's how it felt at the time. There in the top left middle swoosh of formation was something there, something which I did not spot when off loading images from my camera. At first I imagined this extra visitor to the formation as a small droid or something of that nature, but when I looked closer and enhanced the image IT WAS NO DROID !. Not only this but at the very top of the formation I also noticed a very odd looking dark upright figure ! Click on the below images for large versions and see If you can spot the two extra unexplained visitors to this formation. The above image shows something small in the swoosh of the formation. Images magnified ( zoomed in ) Image below an artistic impression of the above images. Interesting looking character!. Whatever it is will probably remain unexplained but one thing is for sure that in the whole history of the crop circle phenomenon nothing of this nature has EVER been captured on camera before.
